Abstract
564,863. Wood. BORST, A. H., and BORST, W. F. April 8, 1943, No. 5612. [Class 145 (ii)] [Also in Group VIII] A core for a curved panel or the like comprises a sheet 10 of flexible material, such as wood, to which spaced blocks 11 are secured, as by an adhesive, on either side. The gaps 12 between the blocks on one side registering with those on the other side. The core is bent or curved to the desired shape and the panel completed by securing to the outer faces of the blocks, on one or both sides, facing sheets 13 which may be made of plywood or metal. The spaces between the blocks may be filled with a plastic substance having adhesive and setting properties and the facing sheets may be formed of this material.
