Abstract
492,757. Fluid-pressure servomotorcontrol systems. AKT.-GES. KUHNLE, KOPP, & KAUSCH. March 20, 1937, No. 8265. Convention date, April 7, 1936. [Class 135] A governing arrangement for power engines comprises a linkless flat spring governor 1 which actuates by means of a stirrup-shaped member 11 connected to the governor sleeve 2, a pilot valve 3 controlling a supply of pressure fluid to a piston 4 for actuating, a valve 5 controlling the supply of driving medium to the engine. A follow-up device between the power piston 4 and the pilot valve comprises an auxiliary piston 6 which on movement of the power piston 4 applies fluid-pressure to a piston 9 to adjust the spring loading 10 acting on the governor sleeve to return the pilot valve 3 to its neutral position. A leakage port 14 is provided in the piston 9 so that the pressure built up by movement of the power piston 4 falls away as the engine speed returns to normal. A further loading spring 15 is adjustable to control the governed speed of the engine. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 178,330, [Class 57], and 405,981.
