Abstract
492,574. Endless - - belt conveyers. SMETHURST, J. Dec. 28, 1937, Nos. 35858/37 and 2345/38. [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group VIII] The bearings 3 at each end of a guide roll 2 are pivoted at 5 and carried on a slide 7 moved by a pinion 18 on an arm 20 pivoted to a rod carrying adjustable feelers 23 contacting the edge of a conveyer &c. of a paper-making or cutting machine. Deviation of the conveyer is thus corrected by displacement of the roll 2. The bearings 3 'are adjustably supported on vertical springs.
