Abstract

492,337. Valve amplifying and detecting circuits; television. RADIOAKT.-GES. D. S. LOEWE. March 16, 1937, No. 7680. Convention date, March 19, 1936. [Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] A television detector comprises an anode bend rectifier 1 directly coupled to a following amplifier 6. The carrier frequency energy in the anode circuits of the valves 1, 6 are balanced against one another to remove this frequency from the output. The Figure shows a differential condenser 10-12 for ensuring an accurate balance and a resistance 14 and choke 13 in the feed to the cathode-ray tube to further assist in the removal of carrier frequency. The choke 13 may be resonant to the highest image frequency, varying the damping produced by resistance 14 enables the desired cut-off for the carrier frequency to be obtained. Synchronizing impulses are obtained by a diode 16 which may be contained in the envelope of the valve 1. The separation of the synchronizing signals is effected by the bias potential applied to the diode 16, line and frame impulses being taken from transformers 18a, 18b.
