Abstract

492,311. Lenses. WARMISHAM, A., WYNNE, C. G., and KAPELLA, Ltd. March 19, 1937, No. 8082. [Class 97 (i)] A telephoto objective comprises three compound components separated by air spaces, the front and middle components being convergent and the rear component divergent, and the air space between the two convergent components being greater than half the focal length of the objective. Preferably each component is approximately self-corrected chromatically, and the back focal length is less than a quarter of the focal length of the objective. Data are given for the example shown, having an aperture F/1-65 and back focal length À14F.
