Abstract

492,142. Fusible cut-outs. ELECTRIC TRANSMISSION, Ltd., and DANNENBERG, K. Feb. 24, 1938, No. 5902. [Class 38 (i)] A high-tension fuse comprises a number of nested supports 1 and 2 of refractory insulating- material having ribs or projections on their peripheries around which fusible elements 8 are wound. A fusible element 9 of higher specific resistance than the elements 8 may be arranged coaxially. The ends of the elements 8 are connected to sleeves 4 and 5 and a stepped bush 6 to which the element 9 is connected, fits into the sleeves and connects all the elements in parallel. The elements may be embedded in powder as described in Specification 479,211 and bound to the ends of their supports by pairs of axially spaced metal binders 21, 22, the end of the element being united, at 23, to the inner binder 22 of the pair. Each pair of binders is electrically connected to the contact sleeve by a conducting finger 24.
