Abstract

491,420. Alternating-current motors; synchronous movements. LANDIS & GYR AKT.-GES. Jan.. 6, 1938, No. 400. Convention date, May 13, 1937. [Class 35] [Also in Group XL] A contact selector, more especially for remote controlled systems, is driven by a synchronous motor, the rotor of which coacts directly with a brake to stop the rotor quickly when the motor is de-energized. The rotor 4 drives the selector 6 through gearing 5, 8 and is movable axially by a spring 1 so that it bears against a fixed brake-ring 10 when the motor is not energized. Movement is limited by an abutment such as a screw 11 which is adjusted so that the hub 13 does not rest against the bush 14 whereby adhesion due to oil is prevented.
