Abstract
565,316. Clockwork winding mechanism. LANDIS & GYR SOC. ANON. Oct. 16, 1943, No. 17041. Convention date, Nov. 11, 1942. [Class 139] In a winding arrangement in which a switch in the circuit of the electric motor is controlled by a nut travelling on the driven shaft of the spring motor, a safety device is provided comprising a disc mounted on one of the shafts of the train between the motors and disposed so as to be clamped between the nut and spring drum and stop the electric motor on the failure of the switch. The spring drum 4 is mounted on a shaft 6 on which travels the nut 8 having a cam surface 11 and flange 12 engaging spring contact members forming the control switch. The drum is driven from an electric motor through a gear train 19, 20, the shaft 19 being 'fitted with a disc 22 which, on the failure of the switch to open, is gripped by the nut 8 against an enlargement 23 on the drum and so stops the motor. A second nut 7 prevents the spring from running down completely.
