Abstract
572,207. Clocks. ROSENFELD, P. W. Sept. 25, 1943, No. 15749. [Class 139] The invention relates to electric winding apparatus for spring-actuated clocks or electric winding attachment therefor. As the spring of the clock unwinds the winding member 11, Fig. 3, fixed on the arbor of the spring is rotated while the winding wheel 10 is .kept stationary. When a finger 114 on an arm 113 contacts with one of the two studs 105, Fig. 1, on a wheel disc 101 an electric motor 5 is energized to rotate wheel 10 and so member 11 in a counter-clockwise direction thereby turning the spring arbor to wind the spring. When a roller 116 running on a cam surface 12 causes the arm 113 to rook and disengage the finger 114 from the stud 105 the motor circuit is broken and winding ceases. The clock spring again unwinds until the finger 114 on the arm 113, which has been brought back to the perpendicular position by the spring-pressed pin 118, Fig. 3, engages with the second stud 105 whereupon winding again takes place. The member 11 is so constructed that the arm 113 can be brought into axial alignment with the portion 112 in order to wind the clock manually.
