Starters with no-volt release.-In a motorstarter with a no-volt release detent the detent is made proof against accidental release in the event of mechanical shock, by mounting the detent 8 pivotally near the end of a spindle 7, and providing means such as a push-piece 17 attached to the starter-arm H for turning the spindle through 90‹ when the starter-arm is moved to its full-on position. The detent then remains in engagement with a hook 2 and cannot yield on its pivot until the spindle has come back to its original angular position. The return of the spindle is effected automatically by a spring 18 upon the failure of a no-volt magnet M and the consequent movement of an armature 14 by a spring 19.
