472,285. Electric clocks. SCHILD, M. March 20, 1936, No. 8448. Convention date, June 17, 1935. [Class 139] Winding-apparatus, electric.-A clock has a weighted driving arm 7, 8 which drives the hands through a one-way clutch 9, 6 and is re-energized by an electromagnet 13 the armature 12 of which raises the driving arm about its pivot (the spindle of ratchet wheel 6), the magnet circuit being closed when the arm 7 reaches the bottom of its stroke. The contact is made by the armature 12 with an extension 11 on the arm 7. 3 Is the pendulum. The battery 15 for the electromagnet 13 is carried by a spring metal clip 16 riveted to the movement plate 1. The poles 17, 18 of the battery make contact with clip 16 and pillar 20 respectively. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to British Specifications 11822/92, 19941/02, 2574 /06, [all in Class 139], 15928/13, [Class 137], 140,856, and 305,327, [both in Class 139], and U.S.A. Specification 1,929,631.
