[Class 65 (i)] Door-operating appliance comprises a toothed member e connected to the door pivot c, a chain f engaging e and connected at one or both ends to a lever &c. g pivoted at h, and connected on opposite sides of the pivot to a spring or springs r, s and a dashpot y. The tension of the springs is adjusted by an abutment nut t on a threaded rod u. The movement of the lever may be limited by stops m, in the path of a lug n on the lever. The parts are mounted in a casing or frame arranged above or below the door.
