490,258. Valve amplifying circuits. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE. April 26, 1937, No. 11947. Convention date, April 24, 1936. [Class 40 (v)] In short-wave amplifiers operating in known capacity neutralized circuits, it is found that owing to the anode-cathode and anode-grid capacities being of the same order, the grid has an apparent low input resistance. This difficulty is overcome by dividing the anode circuit inductance into two portions, effectively in parallel as regards high frequency with gridanode and neutralizing capacities. The anode inductance is divided into two parallel portions I, II, the branch I being connected at the point M by a blocking condenser CB, which may be adjustable, to the grid G. The junction of the capacity voltage-divider CSP, CSP is earthed with the cathode K. The upper portion of coil I is in parallel (as regards high frequency) with the grid-anode capacity CAG and the lower portion is in parallel with the neutralizing condenser CN, and if the portions of the inductance are in the same ratio as their parallel capacities the grid shunting effect is reduced. The two portions of the inductance may be arranged to form a tuning variometer.
