Abstract

490,225. Gramophone pick-ups. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and SIMPSON, H. Feb. 10, 1937, No. 4001. [Class 40 (iv)] In a gramophone pick-up of the type in which the output potential is generated in a fixed winding 2 surrounding a movable armature 1, a short-circuited path of high electric conductivity is provided in close proximity to the winding. To form the short-circuited path the centre drum 4 joining the flanges 3 of the spool carrying the winding may be made of metal, or, Fig. 2 (not shown), the spool itself may be made of metal. In an alternative arrangement, Fig. 3 (not shown), the short-circuited path consists of a secondary winding shortcircuited on itself and arranged within the main winding. Specification 252,228, [Class 40 (iv)], is referred to.
