488,813. Lids for containers. BOENECKE, A. July 7, 1937, No. 18896. Convention date, June 2. Addition to 488,806. [Classes 18 and 125 (iii)] In the application of the invention described in the parent Specification to covers or lids secured on containers by bayonet-joints, inclined lugs 17, Fig. 4, on the interior of the lid flange engage under inclined lugs 15 on the container body and the interior of the lid flange is also provided with a projection 31 which, as the lid is secured in position, rides over and then abuts against a projection 30 on the container to prevent or hinder the releasing movement of the cover. 18 Denotes the slot in the cover over the lug 17. In a modification, a cap 13, Fig. 5, applied to a bottle 11 has a sealing disc 32 and the projection 31 on the cap abuts against an edge of one of the locking lugs 15 on the bottle instead of against a separate projection.
