Abstract

488,068. Valves. DINGLERWERKE AKT.-GES. Aug. 27, 1937, No. 23578. Convention date, Aug. 28, 1936. [Class 135] A sliding plate type of valve comprises two valve plates 1, 1, movable together in the valve casing and being forced apart onto the seatings by a spring or a wedge 9, which are each provided with two separate seating surfaces 2, 3 co-operating with seating surfaces 5, 6 on the casing to form annular chambers 7 between them. Drain pipes controlled by valves 15 are taken from these chambers to test for and run off any leakage past the first of the seatings depending on the direction of flow. The seating surfaces 5, 6 on the casing are formed on separately inserted pieces 16 although in a modification the seating surfaces are formed on the casing itself. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also arrangements in which a single valve plate is used, the plate being either wedge-shaped or parallel with the two seating surfaces on one side with the wedgeshaped plate and on both sides with the parallel plate. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
