Abstract

487,750. Heating by electricity. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES. Nov. 22, 1937, No. 32107. Convention date, Nov. 21,1936. [Class 39 (iii)] A hot-plate in which the heating- element is embedded in insulating material in grooves between two metal plates 11, 12, has its lower plate 12 coated with metal, enamel, &c., having a lower radiation constant than the roughened surface of the top plate 11. The grooves in the plate 12 may have a semielliptical cross-section to form an air space between the tubular element 14 and the hot-plate 12, Fig. 2. A reflecting plate 16 and an insulating plate 17 are provided beneath the hotplate. The lower member 12 may also consist of parts of strap form which hold the heating element against the upper plate member.
