Abstract

290,514. Allen, J. H. Nov. 11, 1927. Wire resistances mounted on grooved surfaces. -A porcelain block carrying an electric heating resistance is provided with a heat-insulating backing forming a part of the block. The block is grooved on one side to receive the resistance and on the other is formed with a flange A enclosing a recess which is filled with a heat-insulating material. The recess may be filled with a kielselguhr or asbestos cement which may be fired with the block, or an asbestos plate may be cemented in place in it.
