[Class 39 (iii).] An electric heater or hot-plate comprises two or more heating elements A, B counterbalanced by one another or by weights to throw the surface of one element above another in order to obtain better contact between them and the vessel to be heated. The elements may be mounted on levers D to counterbalance one another or one element may be fixed, the lever D being then provided with a weighted end to counterbalance the other element.
