Abstract
535,734. Electric thermal storage cookers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. HUMPHRIES, O. W., and CONNELL, L. J. C. Oct. 12, 1939. No. 27729 [Class 39 (iii)] An electric thermal storage cooker comprises a storage block 2 above an oven 6 heated continuously by heaters 3, and a storage block 1 heated by conduction from the block 2 and projecting above the body of the cooker to form a hot-plate. The blocks are surrounded by glass wool 4 and surmounted by a casing 8 containing glass wool. The casing includes a hot-plate 9 secured by a bolt 10 in such a position that it heats the block 1 by conduction. An adjustable thermostat 14 controls the temperature of the hot-plate 9. The hot-plate 9 enables the heating-up of the cooker to be expedited, and the casing 8 containing it may be transported from one cooker to another, or alternatively, may be hinged to the body of the cooker. The thermostat 14 may alternatively be carried by a bracket fixed to the block 1.
