Abstract

In apparatus according to Claim 1, the main patent, an auxiliary cooler having means for maintaining a layer of hot gas in upward movement between the cooler and the sheet glass is provided on one or both sides of the sheet glass above the coolers referred to in that claim. Further, the gas burners of all coolers may be replaced by other heaters, in particular tubes heated by steam or electric resistance heaters.
