Electric hot-plates.-An electric cooking-plate or other heating element consists of a plate 1 of insulating material into the underside of which the heating wire 2 is pressed. The plate is made of an adhesive, hardening, and elastic mass or mortar and the heating wire which may be of spiral form, is pressed therein while the material is still soft. The plate may be carried by a metal reflecting box 5, which may be provided with perforations 7 or 8. Perforations 4 may be provided in the plate.
