Abstract

543,318. Electric hot plates. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and RYECROFT, J. L. Sept. 6, 1940, No. 13939. [Class 39 (iii)] An electric hot plate in which the heating element 1 is embedded in recesses in pressed metal plates 5, of the kind described in Specifications 509,908, 522,427 and 522,609 are of less overall thickness than those in which cast metal is used. In order that it may be connected to a cooker by means of a standard carrier, the thickness is increased by adding an enamelled sheet iron rim 12 and a back cover 13 through which passes the central bolt 11. The'leads are brought out through insulating bushes 16 in the cover 13, which may be located at any desired position. Specifications 420,467, [Group XXXVI], 487,750, and 537,818 also are referred to.
