Abstract

486,746. Insulators. RAHIM, A. March 17, 1937, No. 7899/38. Divided out of 486,691. [Class 36] An insulator for supporting a main conductor 6 and for teeing-off a branch conductor 11 therefrom, comprises a base part 1 and an outer part 5 drawn together by a bolt 3 so as to clamp the main conductor, the bolt preferably serving as the means for attaching the insulator to a supporting pole and being formed with a hooked end which enters a curved slot 7 in the outer part of the insulator. Between that portion of the outer part against which the bolt presses and the portion adjacent the base part a hole 8 is formed to receive an anchoring loop 10 of the branch conductor, the end of which is spliced to the main conductor in the usual manner. The bolt 3 may be employed in the manner described in Specification 486,691, to support a second insulator which may or may not be adapted for holding a branch conductor.
