Abstract

529,380. Insulated conductors. ROCKBESTOS PRODUCTS CORPORATION: May 12, 1939, No. 14224. Convention date, Sept. 10, 1938. [Class 36] An insulated conductor, more particularly for winding electric coils which operate at elevated temperatures, comprises a conductor 1 surrounded by a wrapping 2 of glass yarn which is retained on the conductor by a sheath 4 formed by winding directly over the glass wrapping a felted asbestos roving 5 reinforced by a glass thread 6. The sheath 4 may be impregnated with insulating compound and burnished. A coating 3 of adhesive may be applied to the conductor prior to application of the glass yarn. Specification 526,983, [Group IX], is referred to.
