602,169. Windings for dynamo-electric machines. ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING CORPORATION. Nov. 6, 1944, No. 21697. Convention date, Nov. 6, 1943. [Class 35] The wire A1 has one end placed in commutator riser slot 1 and is then taken through armature slot 1 (aligned with commutator riser slot 1) and through armature slot 8 back through commutator riser slot 1. This is repeated for all the commutator segments in groups A and C to form one winding layer. A similar second layer is wound over the first, starting at the first commutator riser in each of groups B and D. A "unitary" " cup 18 is placed over the armature shaft to enclose the end connections and may be lined with 'insulation such as glass fabric.
