Abstract
239,076. McEldowney, C. A. Nov. 13, 1924. Insulation; cores and carcass structures.-In a dynamo armature consisting of a number of discs 3 threaded on a shaft 1 and formed with slots 4, preferably widening inwardly, for the winding, a number of discs 7 of insulating material, such as fibre, is interspersed among the laminations. The slots in the insulating discs are rather smaller than those in the laminations, so that the edges of the insulating discs hold the wire clear of the iron. A similar arrangement in armatures of the Gramme ring type is disclaimed.
