Abstract

485,304. Hand wheels. BLUEMEL BROS., Ltd., and BLUHMEL, F.W. Jan. 16, 1937, No. 1371. [Class 80 (iv)] A steering-wheel rim is made axially adjustable relatively to a hollow boss 12, fixed to the shaft 14, by mounting an annular hub 16, connecting the spokes 11, in the boss with the spokes passing through slots 15 in the sides of the boss. The hub is slotted along a radius so that it may be expanded to grip the inner wall of the boss. The expanding means may be a screw bolt 20, or an oval core 21, Fig. 5, which is turned by a handle above the cap 17. Alternatively the hub is mounted for adjustment on a central vertical screwed spindle. Specification 468,489 is referred to.
