Abstract
308,935. K÷ln-Lindenthaler Metallwerke Akt.-Ges. June 13, 1928, [Convention date]. Steering-mechanism.-In a steering-damper of the friction-disc type for motor-cycles, the lower friction-disc 14 is clamped between the nut 12 for adjusting the bearings of the steering-head, and a lock-nut 13 therefor, and is connected to the steering-column 4, so as to turn therewith, by projections on its inner periphery engaging longitudinal grooves 16 in the column 4. The central disc 20 is connected by an arm 21 and a nut 22 to a. flange 23 on the upper frame tube 1. The upper disc 24 is provided with a downwardlybent rim 25 formed with spaced notches 26 engaging projections on the outer edge of the disc 14. A spring 28 acting on the disc 24 is adjusted by a nut 29 screwed on the upper end of the column 4 and provided with a hand-grip 30, which is held in adjusted position by two spring arms 32 engaging projections 31, the spring arms 32 being carried by an annular disc clamped between the nut 29 and the spring 28 and formed with inner projections engaging the grooves 16 in the steering-column.
