Abstract
484,332. Valve amplifying circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and FARREN, L. I. Dec. 31, 1936, Nos 35830/36 and 2643/37. [Class 40 (v)] In a negative reaction amplifier having elements Z 1 .. Z5 producing feedback and a load impedance Z varying considerably with frequency over the operating range, one of the elements is of the form aZ +b, where a and b are independent of frequency and are positive or in the case of b may be zero. The values of a and b are so chosen that the current or the voltage in the load is stabilized and the output impedance is stabilized, or matched to the load, or is less than Ra the impedance of the output stage. The Specification gives a mathematical analysis and the circuit arrangement for obtaining each of the above conditions which involve one or more of the impedances Z 1 .. Z being reactive and in some cases the use of zero and infinite impedances. In some cases for current stabilization an impedance having a negative resistance component may be required, but the conditions will be substantially satisfied if the resistance is in these cases made zero.
