[Class 120 (iii)] A ply or folded yarn or thread with a regular twist of low degree and regular tension is made by winding a number of single threads into a single package upon a holder with a tape, wind and then drawing the threads together as a. single folded thread or ply 'yarn from the single package to the holder, e.g. a pirn or beam, upon which the folded thread or ply yarn is to be employed. The single threads are preferably wound on holders with a taper wind, e.g. on bottle bobbins.
