483,193. Fuel-injection pumps. FISCHER, H. May 31, 1937, No. 15140. Convention date, May 29, 1936. [Class 102 (i)] In a fuel-injection pump the piston 20 has a helical edge 22 and the groove 22a extends from the groove so formed to the end of the piston. A suction port 15 is connected to the pipe 17 and the byepass port 16 to the pipe 18 which is connected to the fuel supply. In a multi-cylinder pump the suction passages are branched so that any two cylinders operating successively do not draw from the same passage. Fig. 7 shows an eight cylinder pump with the suction passage divided into three branches 30a, 30b and 31a.
