Abstract

481,981. Sliding bolts. SHOWELL & SONS, Ltd., E., and PEARCE, A. J. Oct. 28, 1936, No. 29239. [Class 44] A necked barrel bolt for doors has the portion of the bolt 6b to which the handle is fixed adapted for rotary movement relative to the part 6 on which the necked end is formed. The necked end 6a of the bolt 6 is attached to the handle operated portion 6b by the joint 6d, 6e which permits relative rotary movement between the two parts. The bolt may be locked in either the shot or unshot positions by rotating the handle 6c into one or other of the slots 5b, 5c. A spring-pressed ball 8 is used to prevent rattling of the bolt.
