Sliding bolts.-A fastener for French windows, sashes, doors, &c. consists of a spring-controlled bolt A having a pin J sliding in a slot N, so shaped that the handle K must be given both a right and a left handed rotation in shooting or withdrawing the bolt. The operation of the fastener is rendered secret by a cylindrical cover adapted to be sprung over the barrel B to hide the slot N.
