Abstract

481,676. Cardboard &c. boxes. NONAIL CASES PROPRIETARY, Ltd., and KAMPER, A. M. Sept. 17, 1936, No. 25363. [Class 18] Boxes are made from foldable cardboard, corrugated paper &c. blanks with their contacting surfaces treated to render them mutually adhesive, but without being adhesive to an untreated surface, the blank being folded to form the front, bottom, back and top, lateral portions being provided on opposite sides to form the ends, and the adhesive being positioned on the free borders of the lateral portions and the side borders of the main portion. In the form shown in Fig. 2, separate lateral portions 2, 3 are attached by a rubber solution to the main portion constituting the front 8, bottom 9, back 10 and lid and lid flap 12, the same adhesive being applied on the cross-hatched areas and on the top outer edge of the front of the box. The form shown in Fig. 5 has double walls throughout except for the ends 2, 3. In the form shown in Fig. 6, the lateral portions 2, 3 have no securing flanges these being provided on the main blank which has adhesively coated flanges 14<1>, 13<1>, 16<1>, 151. According to the Provisional Specification metal strips may be clamped on to the opposite sides of the rectangular body portion of the blank and serve to clamp thereto the attachment flanges of the lateral members, such flanges being turned outwards instead of inwards, the ends lying slightly inside the edges of the body of the blank.
