Abstract

481,675. Copy-holders. COPPOCK, T. L. Sept. 17, 1936, No. 25310. [Class 100 (iii)] To enable a copy-holder to be held in upright position at the side of a typewriter by the weight of the machine, the copy-holding plate 10 has a laterally projecting arm 11, which passes through a passage in a fulcrumblock 1, and projects under the lower edge of the typewriter frame 3, which is raised from the supporting surface 5 bv the usual feet. The arm 11 rests on one of two or more fulcra 8, 9, which are located at different levels within the block 1, to suit different machines. A screw 14 bears on the arm at the side of the fulcrum remote from the machine, in order to secure the arm more firmly. The block 1 has an inclined face to fit against the side of the typewriter, so that the arm is at an angle to the side of the machine. The arm may have means for adjusting the angle of the plate 10 to the vertical plane. The block 1 may be secured to the machine frame. The copy rests in a channel 17, and is retained by a slidable bar 18, which may be pivoted at one end.
