445,079. Typewriters. PAILLARD & CIE, SOC. ANON., E., Yverdon, Vaud, Switzerland. Jan. 29, 1935, No. 22006. Convention date, July 30, 1934. Divided out of 445,059. [Class 100 (iv)] Paper-carriages ; carriageshift mechanism.-To permit of adjustment of the platen with respect to the typelevers, the entire carriage is adjustably mounted on an inclined surface formed on a transverse bar. The bar may be mounted on pivots and connected to shift-keys. The carriage 54, shown in the Figure, is supported by means of balls 56 on an inclined rail 7 which is adjustably secured by screws 9 to the inclined top of a transverse bar 8. Adjustment of the rail adjusts the platen 6 with respect to the typelevers 37. The bar is provided with arms 79 which are arranged between pairs 89, 89<1> of adjustable stops and are connected by links 91 to shift-keys U. The arms are normally retained in contact with the stops 89 by gravity, springs being unnecessary. The bar carries a spring drum 76, and a stop 78 which co-operates with margin stops 68 on the carriage. Ruling; card - guiding arrangements.-A vibrator-supporting bracket 81 on the bar 8 is formed with a card-holding finger having an aperture for receiving a pencil when used for ruling lines.
