Abstract

220,550. Fairweather, W. C., (Underwood Typewriter Co.)..Jan. 18, 1924. Sheet feeding and guiding arrangements. - A paper-finger consists of a stiff guide-finger, and a detachable yielding plate supporting a feedroller; the finger and plate may be secured to a longitudinally-adjustable bracket. A stiff guidefinger 26 and a thin plate 37 supporting a feedroller 33 are secured at the top, by means of screws 30, to an arm 24 of a bracket 17, the finger having a flange 28 for engaging the top of the arm. The feed-roller is pivoted in lugs 36 on the plate, and passes through an aperture formed in the finger, and arranged between lugs 34 thereon. The bracket consists of a yoke 19 engaging a rod 11, the end 17<a> of the yoke being extended and formed with the arm 24. To prevent the bracket from binding on the rod when moved laterally, the end 17<a> is formed with stiffening-flanges 22, 23. The yoke carries a spring- pressed key 20 normally engaging a groove 18 in the rod.
