339,385. Ellis Sterling Bookkeeping Machines, Ltd., Brock, J. H., and Leeder, F. J. May 9, 1930. Sheet-guiding arragements. - A hopper for facilitatinginsertion of a sheet or card at the front of the platen consists of converging plates F, G, Fig. 3, having at each side legs f<1>, g<1> which are connected at the bottom to provide stops for the sheet &c. The plate G may be provided with lugs g<2> engaging a bar H on the carriage, and with struts J secured by screws j<2> to the paper-table A<1>. Sheet-clamping arrangements. - An arm N pivoted on the plate F is provided with a roller n<1> for clamping the sheet and is held in clamping or released position by a spring n<4>. The clamp is released by withdrawing the sheet and is restored by a linger-piece n<2> when the next sheet has been inserted.
