Abstract

481,653. Cycle supports. MICHEL, G. Aug. 25, 1937, No. 23363. Convention date, Aug. 25, 1936. [Class 136 (i)] A suspension device or repair stand for bicycles, of the type comprising a clamping- tongs adapted to be closed by a hand-lever, is provided with a spring which normally holds the tongs open and which is also arranged to exert a resilient clamping action when the lever is actuated to close the tongs. The lower or stationary limb 3 of the tongs is provided with a stud 2 adapted to be detachably clamped in a T-shaped head 1 of the stand, and is formed with two upwardly-projecting lugs 4, between which the end of the upper limb 5 is guided for vertical movement, the sliding connection consisting of a pin 6 engaging a vertical slot 7 in the limb 5. A spring 9 in the limb 3 bears against a plate 12 having a cam 12a engaging a cam 5a on the limb 5, the spring being ajustable by means of a screw 11. A hand-lever 14 is pivoted to the lower limb 3, and is provided with a roller 15, which engages a cam 13 having a recess 16 to receive the roller and hold the lever in the actuated position.
