[Class 136 (ii)] Means for facilitating the detachment of a cycle rear wheel having a changespeed gear enclosed in the hub, without disturbing the driving chain and sprocket, comprises a spindle formed of two separable parts a, f carrying the sprocket d and hub k respectively, clutch dogs &c. e on the sprocket-carrying ring c normally engaging clutch grooves &c. h in the driving part i of the change-speed gear. When the spindle part f is unscrewed from the part a, the clutch members e, h can be disengaged by flexing the fork limbs, and the hub k and its enclosed gear removed.
