Abstract

424,820. Driving dynamos. LUSTENBERGER, J., 2, Eichmattstrasse, Lucerne, Switzerland. Sept. 24, 1934, No. 27416. [Class 35] [See also Group XXXI] A cycle dynamo and brake are enclosed within a common hub, the dynamo driving-gear and the brake being contained in an enlarged portion of the hub. The armature 17 of the dynamo is driven through gearing 14, 11, 12 from an internally-toothed ring 10 fixed to an enlarged portion 7<a> of the hub 7. The gear wheel 14 is adapted to be disengaged from the gear wheel 11 by means of a sliding rod 16. Two brake shoes are also mounted in the enlarged part or drum 7<a>, and are actuated by means of a cam 24, shaft 25, and lever 27. The end plate 5 is removable for obtaining access to the gearing, brake, and dynamo. A conductor 20 is led from the dynamo through a bore in the axle 1 to a lamp.
