Abstract
480,029. Drawer &c. fastenings. CO-OPERATIVE WHOLESALE SOCIETY, Ltd., and BICKERS, H. J. Oct. 10, 1936, No. 27529. [Class 44] A fastening particularly for the drawers of steel filing cabinets comprises a hook catch c for each drawer, the catches being slidably mounted on a channel or frame member a, each catch having a pair of lugs e bearing against one face of, and a pair of lugs d passed through a slot b in, said member. The lower lug d is initially spaced away from the lower lug e as shown in Fig. 1 to facilitate insertion through the slot. The lower lug d is then pressed in to bear against the channel member a, Fig. 5, and the upper lug d is bent laterally, Fig. 4, to prevent withdrawal from the slot. Each catch engages automatically under action of a spring f anchored in a slot d<1> in the lower lug d, and to a tongue g struck up from member a. The catches are released by sliding member a upwards.
