Abstract
548,629. Catches. VANDERVELD, A., and GRAND RAPIDS STORE EQUIPMENT' CO. Feb. 17, 1941, No. 2129. [Class 44] [Also in Group XIV] Removable door frames 7 of show cases are secured to the end walls 3 by pivoted catches 15 having hooks 17 to enter U-shaped strips 5 let into the end walls and to engage upwardly or downwardly projecting tongues 6 struck up from the sides of the strips 5. The upright members 7 of the door frames are of S-section and are joined by top and bottom frame members 8 serving as guides for sliding glass doors 9. Finishing strips 10 are located between the front of the frame members 7 and the sides 3 of the show case. The catches 15 have bent ears 18 adapted to snap behind projections 14 on attachment plates 11 to hold them in engaged position. The catches may be reversely set as shown in Fig. 4, or the hooks may be shaped to lock between adjacent tongues 6 to prevent accidental displacement. Similar means are described for securing frames of vertically sliding doors one of which is movable to turn horizontally beneath the top of the case. It is stated that the fitting may be applied to shelves. Specification 540,100, [Group XIV], is referred to.
