Abstract
276,799. Watts, J. R. July 21, 1926. Garment racks.-In wardrobe fittings of the type comprising a pull out carrier for garment hangers, the carrier is held in its closed position by a pivoted catch. In the construction shown in Figs. 1 and 3, the carrier consists of a bar 8 with angular tongues 9, or bevelled sides, engaging grooves in two guide members 10 secured to the wardrobs &c. top b end brackets 12. The bar 8 carries a lower parallel bar 7 to receive the hangers. The carrier is held in its closed position by a pivoted catch 16 having a front bar 15 which engages the end of the bar 8. In a modification shown in Fig. 5, an inclined portion 19 raises the catch 16 over the end of the carrier as the carried is pushed in. In a further modification, the front bar 15 of the catch engages a slot in the carrier or behind an inclined lug on the carrier. According to the Provisional Specification the fitting may be constructed of stainless steel.
