Abstract

In fuel for compression-ignition engines is dissolved a zinc-fatty acid compound; on combustion an impalpable residue of zinc oxide is produced which assists lubrication and prevents corrosion. 2,0 per cent of zinc oleate, stearate, or naphthenate is suitable. Specification 395,192 is referred to. The Provisional Specification states that zinc oleate, linoleate, or ricinoleate, or other soluble organic compound of zinc may be used.
