[Class 29] Absorption systems.-A reversing system employing a solid absorbent such as calcium chloride is provided with a liquid seal 12 of paraffin or other neutral liquid at the bottom of the generator-absorber 10, to cause vapours evolved in the heating period to pass through an outlet 6 and condenser 7 to the evaporator 9 and to cause the vapours to return by the conduit 3, 4, 2 and through the liquid in the absorption period. The generator-absorber is fitted with trays 11 for the absorbent and with pockets 1 for electric heating elements.
