[Class 29] Absorption systems.-In reversing systems in which solid absorbents or adsorbents are employed, access of liquefied refrigerant to the absorbents when the apparatus is inverted, as for example during transport, is prevented by arranging in the conduit connecting the generator-absorber 11 with the condenser 17 and evaporator 18 a float valve 61 adapted to close the conduit in the inverted position. In place of the float valve one or more diaphragms permeable by vapour but not by liquid may be employed. According to the Provisional Specification a liquid trap device or a manually actuated valve may be used.
