Abstract
1294802 Refrigerating CARRIER CORP 24 June 1971 [10 Aug 1970 (2)] 29733/71 Heading F4H In a continuous multiple-stage absorption refrigeration system a pump 36 passes weak solution from a primary absorber 10 to a high pressure generator 12 through a valve 37 controlled in accordance with the pressure difference between the high pressure generator and a further, low pressure generator 13 which houses a high pressure condenser 14 therein and a valve 75 controls the quantity of heat, e.g. steam supplied to the H.P. generator in accordance with refrigeration demand as sensed at 76 in the outlet of chilled water from a primary evaporator 11. As shown, the pressure difference is sensed in accordance with the level of solution via a float 55 in a chamber 54 connected to the flow of intermediate strength solution passing from the H.P. to L.P. generator through a line 50, but it is stated that the level sensor could be replaced by a differential pressure sensor or the like. The weak solution flow control valve 37 may be controlled in response to a combined direct function of the refrigeration demand and the difference in pressure between the generators. The refrigerant may be water and the absorbent lithium bromide.
