417,040. Refrigerating. NORMELLI, W. B., 11, Kaiserdamm, Charlottenburg, Berlin. Dec. 21, 1932, No. 13173 /34. Convention date, Dec. 23, 1931. Divided out of 416,843. [Class 29.] Absorption systems.-The generator-absorber of an electrically heated reversing system employing a solid absorbent such as calcium chloride, with ammonia as refrigerant, is arranged in a chamber continuously open to the air, so that cooling by air takes place both during the absorption period and during the generating period, whereby overheating is avoided. As shown, a pair of generator absorber vessels 1 heated by elements 2 is arranged above a number of gilled condenser elements 5 in an open casing above a refrigerator. The condensed refrigerant is collected in an insulated receiver 7 connected by insulated pipes 11, 12, of considerable length, with an evaporator coil 13 in a cold accumulator tank 14. A charging pipe 17 is connected to the lowest part of the evaporator.
